A UK based company is hiring massage therapists to prevent employees suffering from back pain.
Wellbeing is more than just healthcare – it’s about really caring for your employees. Individuals in a workplace often suffer from back problems as well as other muscular pain.
To prevent this, one UK provider has introduced a way to relieve employees of this pain. Low Cost Vans, based in South Wales, is hiring massage therapists for employees to help with their muscular pain and overall stress levels.
Additionally, they offer two “duvet mornings” a year where staff are allowed to call in and take a morning off, as long as there are no prior requirements for them to be in the office. Those that have been there for ten years are also permitted to take a five week fully paid leave.
Rod Lloyd, managing director of Low Cost Vans, said: “At Low Cost Vans we pride ourselves on how we look after our staff, and bringing in the massage therapist is another way we can help them be healthy and happy employees.
“There are many things that they can do on their own to keep back pain to a minimum, such as walking around the office every so often and sitting properly at their desks, but this is our way of helping them as much as we can.”
According to HR Grapevine, sports massage therapist, Brian John Smith, also commented: “It is a pleasure to work with a company that takes a proactive ‘prevention is better than cure’ approach to their employee's health, which is certainly the case with Rod and the management team at Low Cost Vans.”
