The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is to open a nursery at its headquarters.
UCAS, the admissions service, is opening a workplace nursery at its Cheltenham-based headquarters. Run by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the on-site nursery will provide day care and pre-school education. It is targeted for the ages between three months and five years.
Denise Priest, director of Employer Partnerships at Bright Horizons, said: “Bright Horizons is delighted to partner with UCAS to open a nursery at their Rosehill office. Opening a nursery onsite highlights UCAS’ commitment to supporting their employees, and allows working parents to focus on their roles, knowing that their children are only moments away, happily playing in a stimulating and safe environment that enables them to flourish.”
Designed to provide childcare support for UCAS employees, 50 places will also be open to members of the community.
Mary Curnock Cook, UCAS’ chief executive also commented: “Providing a workplace nursery for our staff is a signal that we recognise the particular challenges for colleagues wanting to combine a fulfilling career with bringing up a family. Early indications are that both male and female staff are excited about the opportunity to have their children looked after on-site in a high quality nursery with access to a wonderful expanse of outdoor space.”
The nursery is set to open in September 2016.
