Two former executives from Carnival UK have teamed up to form a website allowing staff in the travel sector to rate their employer.

The website – workadvisor.co.uk – combines recruitment with a facility that allows existing or former staff to rate organisations on areas like whether they would recommend the company to anyone else, how motivated they were/are, what career development is like, whether line management are supportive and whether the company is a fun and sociable place to work.

According to its founders, Philip Price, a former marketing director at P&O Cruises, and Paul Moran, who previously worked in Carnival UK’s commercial department, the site aims to give job seekers “the inside track on what it’s really like to work in the travel industry.”

Price said: “Employee reviews to give a real insight into the workplace.”

Already, the site has employee reviews on companies including their former company, Carnival, as well as MSC Cruises, Services, British Airways. But the site also lists smaller companies, including Althams Travel Services.

Companies’ scores are combined to give a star-rating from 1-5, and firms who are rated can give their response.
