Equiniti uses tailored communications to engage staff with a wide flex package

“We have done a huge amount of analysis, using surveys to understand exactly what benefits our employees want,” says Tim Brook, senior benefits consultant at Equiniti. “It’s been a good opportunity to revise our strategy and tailor it specifically for their needs.”

Equiniti’s flexible benefits extend over a broad spectrum – from risk and medical covers to gadgets and a cycle-to-work scheme.

“It’s all coming together and it’s attracting a broader range of staff, and the level of engagement is a lot higher now than it’s ever been,” Brook says.

The flex platform, People Space, has been key to the success of the scheme, making the benefits appealing and easy to access and communicate. On top of this, the team has a tailored communications process to send automatic information to specific individuals at certain times – also allowing for data analytics around employee site usage.

In 2016, Equiniti is launching employee car benefits, and also the new generation of People Space, a single sign-on for employees to access their flexible benefits, pensions, sharesave scheme, payroll services and HR functions.

“Our flex scheme has created a much more positive atmosphere where people feel more valued,” says Brook. “Their thoughts and views on what they want their scheme to look like have been taken on board and developed.”
